Basic Digital Art

A 100 level course designed to introduce students to computer-based media production in the context of contemporary internet tools and techniques. The course covers image and sound editing & manipulation, web development, and interactive design. Their first project was an introduction to image manipulation via digital collage.

Final projects for this class were devised by the student and approved via a formal proposal process. They highlighted the student’s interests with the only constraint being that their proposals make use of skills learned in class. Chae Young Oh’s final project for this class was a series of .gifs she digitally collaged that illustrated various Greek myths. They can be seen here:
